Hi Jerry, Ren and the rest of the list.

I agree with your sentiments Jerry regarding life (including our own
selves), or probably anything that we experience or are aware of, as
gestalts of varying 'quality' derived from the collective consciousness.
This basic familial relationship that we and all existance world share
should offer hope for some sort of 'communication' between humankind and
things we would never have dreamed of 'communicating' with.

I gather, Jerry, that you are saying we may be able to 'communicate'in a
simple yes/no way with lower gestalts. And we currently do to some degree
with, say, animals. But I think it is not feasible to get even a simple
yes/no answer if we go lower in the heirarchy.
I don't think we can 'communicate' in any NORMAL sense of the word, beyond
our own frame of reference. It would be like trying to interpret our
dreams. 99% speculation and 1% guesswork. Even a simple 'question' "are you
functioning normally?" requires understanding of concepts as we know them
(such as what is 'functioning' and what is 'normal'). Before any lower
gestalt could respond 'yes' or 'no', it must understand the question.
(Understand being the operative word). It would be like us mortals here on
earth trying to 'understand' heaven (or whetever other worldly places that
may or may not exist)

HOWEVER,
I think there is a way to understand, even if the understanding may be
entirely one way. The answer lies in understanding through OBSERVATION and
interpretation. If we can learn to interpret, far more intelligently than
we currently do, responses to signals (stimuli), we may be able to obtain
an understanding that will allow us to work more closely and in greater
harmony with such gestalts.

We are of course, in this debate, agreeing that there is no such thing as a
'physical' world. So I will stay away from the word and not say 'physical
response to a physical stimulus'. I am suggesting that if we were to try to
'communicate' with lower gestalts we need to concentrate on other faculties
such as universal primordal emotions like love/hate, fear/calm, etc. If we
can learn to recognise/interpret these emotions in the lower gestalts we
may understand a little more. As for communicating with higher gestalts, I
think we are out of our depth and need to just accept whatever crumbs of
understanding or inspiration or insight we get.

I recall in this respect those famous (notorious?) experiments on plants.
There was a definite measured reaction in the plants when a person entered
the room with a pair of secateurs intending to cut some of the branches
off. However, the same person, entering the same room, carrying the same
secateurs, with no intention of cutting anything off, gave no response. We
all communicate in some sense, and I think basic emotions are where the
overlaps occur.

Just as important as any actual ability to interpret the state of lower
gestalts, would be an increase our understanding of our own place in the
universe. We will have greater harmony with the collective consciousness,
and thereby open ourselves to greater insights. Through this individuals
(and through them the world) will advance to greater and better things.
