I've been beating with this for a long time too and I don't know what you
mean about the red-shift and a blue-shift being counterproductive.

It seems to me that these are very basic natural phenomena of the universe
that do provide some information about the true nature of its expansion,
size, and age.

And can perhaps provide some clues about its origin and ultimate fate.

With the Hubble telescope and some of the other instruments they are sending
out there, I think there is great hope that we can reproduce these
experiments in a fantastic new way and maybe come up with some answers.

But, I am just an amatuer. Then again, so were Einstien, Edison, Tesla,
Newton, etc.
