Hi Russell et al!

The index of refraction is how much light bends when it passes through
media which is transparent, but I think it must also apply to ANY WAVE
that passes through any media.

A kind of phase conjugation response that deflects it slightly, like
'english' when shooting pool, where the cue ball either glances off a
ball or puts enough 'spin' on another ball to cause it to follow a
desired trajectory.

The Index of Refraction is the ratio of the speed of light in a vacuum
to the speed of light in a medium.

That pheneomon of the light slowing as it moves through the media, then
resuming its speed when it exits into a less dense media has always
puzzled me too....but rather than obsess on it, I put it on that old
backburner waiting for more input that would shed some light on it...

Now Tesla said he thought light was in reality highly energized
particles which streamed from the sun to the planets.

There are indications that when mass is excited/acclerated to higher and
higher energy states that macro type phase transitions occur.....

Let's take water as a crude example....cooling reduces the energy in
mass...

So if you cool water it remains a fluid until it reaches a critical
temperature of 32 degrees, at that point, the thermal energy is slowed
so that ice crystals begin to form until the entire body of water is
converted to ice.

If you take water and add MORE thermal energy to it, it converts to
steam....add more energy and it converts to vapor, add more energy and
it breaks down to hydrogen and oxygen, presumably due to separation of
the molecule because the bonds which hold it together don't have enough
strength to hold maintain the integrity of the water molecule.

So what if light and by extension all wave phenomena that radiates
through media is 'something' that is at a specific energy level that is
screwing its way through space as it propagetes AS a radiating
wave....the screwing motion must have an INCLINE which must interact and
bounce off the components of the media it passes through.

Years ago, I thought it might be possible to do a TT. Brown'esque
experiment that would use various media of successfully greater indexes
of refraction. so that light or other wave energy sent into this 'pile'
would be slowed in the first media, then pass from it to the second
which was a bit denser thus slowing the energy even more, then to a
third and on down....

Brown even talks about this as 'gravitator' piles which would intercept
inflowing gravity waves to produce heat that could be used for practical
purposes....always working as long as gravity 'flowed'...<g>....

I got my 'refractive pile' idea from the book 'Dweller on Two Planets'
which says 'light can be made to yield sound'.....since it is all waves
that are shorter becoming longer and longer to produce sound, then it
should work.

So, you could tap the energy that appeared at each stage....the aether
spectrum being;

aether slowed down produces
magnetism slowed down produces
electricity slowed down produces
light slowed down produces
heat slowed down produces
sound slowed down produces
vibration slowed down produces
matter

E=MC^ works both ways....you can CONDENSE or PRECIPITATE aether to
produce energy or matter....or you can EXPAND matter to produce energy.

What if radiation is an 'effect'...that mass is normally held bound as a
coherent structure, when excited beyond a certain point, it begins to
radiate and throw off particles, eventually dissolving itself back into
the aether by successive projection via radiating waves?
--------------------
Keely refers to ringing a bell in vacuo for many years...that in time,
the bell would simply dissolve and fade away as its components remelded
with the aether.

An enlightening paper (I have always found it so) is;

http://www.keelynet.com/keely/grad1.txt

Bells rung in vacuo liberate the same number of corpuscles, at the same
velocity as those surrounded by a normal atmosphere; and hence the same
acoustic force attending them, but they are INAUDIBLE from the fact
that, in vacuo, the MOLECULAR VOLUME IS REDUCED.

Received an interesting phone call this morning from a fellow in Utah
who is a Keely guy for many years....he was hesitant to tell me anything
useful, but that changed as we talked and swapped information....I was
amazed at the parallel thoughts, theories and suspicions we had both
arrived at independently...he has book that completely refuts the
Michaelson Morley experiment that he is sending and I will return him a
'care' package of information that should prove useful...I anticipate
posting all of this on the website, much of it IS, but he wants to see
some of the original docs...

That will include the photos of Keelys lab and machines as well as the
book Planetary Philosophy and the missing chapter from the Bloomfield
book removed soon after publishing by some unknown party so that
subsequent generations would NOT have the essence of the book distilled
in the chapter which has long been posted on KeelyNet, courtesy of
