Thank you for all of the info, but it sounds nothing like
the one I had in mind.
The one I had in mind had several synchronized LASERs to
blast the Deuterium in to Trintium if I recall correctly. It
was to be one of the first attempts at Hot Fusion in the
70's. I'll see if I can find the info on the next time I'm
back at my parents place.

NASA has their "Plasma Windows" now, that would be like the
Force Field used in the Shuttle Bay. If you use Argon as
the base gases, it even matches the color. - Brookhaven
