Has anyone taken a serious look at the URL below?

They claim that you can test if you have a working tube by firing an
electric spark gap infront of it, I would imagine a Piezo would work as
well. The big question is does the air actually ignite and for what time
period?
Strange idea very interesting possibilities if it does work.
