electronics question for experiment

Hi all,

just a quick question. I'm having a circuit built for an experiment, and I
need to know the output voltage, at max volume, of an SB16. (soundblaster)

It doesn't have to be precise, I just need to know what range the timer
circuit will be operating in. I know how to test it, but I don't currently
have access to a multitester.
The method I was going to use, is take an old pair of headphones, and cut
the wire, and strip one of them. I'd attach one lead from the tester to
that wire, and the other to ground. The actual wire I'll be using will be a
custom cable, 1/8" phono to coax..
I've been unable to locate this information on the net, and I seem to have
misplaced my SB16 manual.

Any help would be appreciated.
