Hi Folks!

The following was sent to my address and the author Nigel Howie said I
could post to the list for discussion/comment. It is referring to the
following comment under the thread 'Tapping the Casimir Force';

Here is Nigels' experiment;
=============
Hi Jerry,

Regarding the spinning disks, I have for some time now been
experimenting with disks spinning at various revolutions and some
curious results were obtained such as a blue corona around the perimeter
of the disk when a powerful magnet was brought close to it.

I have also now tried the experiment with a disk mounted on a bearing
and seperated from a driven disk, the freewheeling disk did indeed spin
and when the power was shut off the driven disk it slowed down and then
rotated in the opposite direction.

When the driven disk and it associated drive motor was physically
removed, it then slowed down and stopped without showing this tendency
to reverse direction.

In my opinion the field surrounding the motor when under power caused
the rotation in the first place and the reversing effect was when the
motor was still turning and acting like a generator of sorts.

Has anyone else tried this?
