This opening statement from Art gives me the gut feeling that he is not
joking, that this is not a hoax. A little over one year ago (last August,
1997) Dannion Brinkley, a frequent guest, was in a life-or-death battle
against brain hemmorages. When he recovered enough to get taken off the
critical list he appeared on Art's show. It was on this appearance that
Art first mentioned that something horrible had been done to his family.
He did not offer any details, and in fact would not have brought up the
subject, except that Dannion *sensed* that something was terribly wrong
with or around Art. Dannion confronted Art about this perception prior to
that evening's show. When it was touched upon during the show Art said
that he could not disclose what was done, or even to whom it was done to.
As I recall, Art said his reaction to this event was incredible anger, the
kind of hate that could lead someone to murder. I got the impression that
Art told Dannion the entire story in their conversation before that show.
I'm wondering if the phrase, "and a sucession[sic] of other events,"
relates to something which happened while Art was doing his show last
night? It might explain why, nearly two hours into the show, he is
carrying on as if it is a routine open-line show.
