Good Question.
For the record, there is a slim possibility that this is some sort of
stunt.
I recorded the program last night, but since I was going to work on the TV
today (after working on the auto) I did not play his program at my usual
listening time. I do have it running now.
Having listened to the first hour, and now having the second hour playing,
I cannot detect any unusual on-air mannerisms or activities that would
indicate to me that he started last night's show knowing that this was
going to be his "last day in broadcasting." At the start of the show he
welcomed three new stations picking up his show, and then recollected his
trip to South Africa. Commercial breaks are occuring with the usual
sponsors.
