This message has been forwarded many times....I think every now and again we get these messages=A0 to remind us of whatis really important.=A0 This is a true story that occurred in 1994 and wastold by Lloyd
Glen.

Throughout our lives we are blessed with spiritual experiences, some ofwhich are very sacred and confidential, and others, although sacred, aremeant to be shared.=A0=A0 Last summer my family had a spiritual experiencethat had a lasting and profound impact on us, one we feel must beshared.=A0 It's a message of love.=A0 It's a message of regainingperspective, and restoring proper balance and renewing
priorities. In humility.=A0 I pray that I might, in relating this story, give you a gift my little son, Brian gave
our family one summer day last year.
=A0
On July 22nd I was in route to Washington DC for a business trip.=A0 It wasall so very ordinary, until we landed in Denver for a plane change.=A0 As Icollected my belongings from the overhead bin, an announcement was madefor Mr. Lloyd Glenn to see the United Customer Service Representativeimmediately.=A0 I thought nothing of it until I reached the door to leavethe plane and I heard a gentleman asking every male if they were Mr.Glenn. At this point I knew something was wrong and my heart sunk.
=A0
When I got off the plane a solemn-faced young man came toward me andsaid, "Mr. Glenn, there is an emergency at your home. I do not knowwhat the emergency is, or who is involved, but I will take you to thephone so you can call the hospital."
=A0
My heart was now pounding, but the will to be calm took over.=A0 Woodenly,I followed this stranger to the distant telephone where I called thenumber he gave me for the Mission Hospital. My call was put through tothe trauma center where I learned that my three-year-old son had beentrapped underneath the automatic garage door for several minutes, andthat when my wife had found him he was dead.=A0 CPR had been performed by aneighbor, who is a doctor, and the paramedics had continued the treatment
as Brian was transported to the hospital.=A0 By the time of my call, Brianwas revived and they believed he would live, but they did not know howmuch damage had been done to his brain, nor to his heart.=A0 They explainedthat the door had completely closed on his little sternum right over hisheart.=A0 He had been severely crushed.
=A0
After speaking with the medical staff, my wife sounded worried but nothysterical, and I took comfort in her calmness.=A0 The return flight seemedto last forever, but finally I arrived at the hospital six hours afterthe garage door had come down. When I walked into the intensive careunit, nothing could have prepared me to see my little son laying so stillon a great big bed with tubes and monitors everywhere.
He was on a respirator.=A0 I glanced at my wife who stood and tried to giveme a reassuring smile.=A0 It all seemed like a terrible dream.=A0 I wasfilled in with the details and given a guarded prognosis. Brian was goingto live, and the preliminary tests indicated that his heart was ok-twomiracles, in and of themselves.=A0=A0=A0 But only time would tell if his bra=inreceived any damage.
=A0
Throughout the seemingly endless hours, my wife was calm.=A0 She felt thatBrian would eventually be all right. I hung on to her words and faithlike a lifeline.=A0 All that night and the next day Brian remainedunconscious.=A0 It seemed like forever since I had left for my businesstrip the day before.=A0 Finally at two o'clock that afternoon, our sonregained consciousness and sat up uttering the most beautiful words Ihave ever heard spoken, He said, "Daddy hold me," and hereached for me with his little arms.
=A0
[TEAR BREAK...smile]
=A0
By the next day he was pronounced as having no neurological or physicaldeficits, and the story of his miraculous survival spread throughout thehospital.=A0 You cannot imagine our gratitude and joy.
=A0
As we took Brian home we felt a unique reverence for the life and love Ofour Heavenly Father that
comes to those who brush death so closely.=A0 In the days that followedthere was a special spirit about our home.=A0 Our two older children weremuch closer to their little brother.=A0 My wife and I were much
closer to each other, and all of us were very close as a whole family.=A0Life took on a less stressful
pace.=A0 Perspective seemed to be more focused, and balance much easier togain and maintain. We
felt deeply blessed.=A0 Our gratitude was=A0 truly profound.
=A0
[The story is not over] (smile)
=A0
Almost a month later to the day of the accident, Brian awoke from hisafternoon nap and said, "Sit down mommy. I have something to tellyou."=A0 At this time=A0 in his life, Brian usually spoke in smallphrases, so to say a large sentence surprised my wife.=A0 She sat down withhim on his bed and he began his sacred and remarkable story.
=A0
"Do you remember when I got stuck under the garage door?=A0 Well itwas so heavy and it hurt really bad.=A0 I called to you, but you couldn'thear me.=A0 I started to cry, but then it hurt too bad.=A0 And then the"birdies" came.=A0 "The birdies?" my wife asked,puzzled.=A0 "Yes," he replied.=A0 "The birdies" made awhooshing sound and flew into the garage.=A0 They took care of me."
=A0
"They did?"=A0 "Yes", he said.=A0 "One of the=A0birdies" came and got you.=A0 She came to tell you I got stuck
under the door."
=A0
A sweet reverent feeling filled the room. The spirit was so strong andyet lighter than air.=A0=A0 My wife realized that a three-year-old had noconcept of death and spirits, so he was referring to the beings who=20
came to him from beyond as "birdies" because they were up inthe air like birds that fly.
=A0
"What did the birdies look like?" she asked.=A0 Brian answered.=A0"They were so beautiful. They were
dressed in all white.=A0 Some of them had green and white. But some of themhad on just white."
=A0
"Did they say anything?"=A0 "Yes" he answered.=A0 Theytold me the baby would be alright."=A0 "The baby?"=A0 my wifeasked, confused.=A0 And Brian answered.
=A0
"The baby laying on the garage floor."=A0 He went on, "Youcame out and opened the garage door and ran to the baby.=A0 You told thebaby to stay and not leave."
=A0
My wife nearly collapsed upon hearing this, for she had indeed gone andknelt beside Brian's body and seeing his crushed chest and unrecognizablefeatures, knowing he was already dead, she looked up around her andwhispered, "Don't leave us Brian, please stay if=A0 you can.
=A0
As she listened to Brian telling her the words she had spoken, sherealized that the spirit had left his body and was looking down fromabove on this little lifeless form.
=A0
"Then what happened?" she asked.
=A0
"We went on a=A0 trip." he said, "far, far away.." Hegrew agitated trying to say the things he didn't seem to have the wordsfor.=A0 My wife tried to calm and comfort him, and let him know it would beokay.=A0 He struggled with wanting to tell something that obviously wasvery important to him, but finding the words was difficult.
=A0
"We flew so fast up in the air."=A0 "They're so prettyMommy," he added.=A0 "And there is lots and lots of"birdies".=A0 My wife was stunned.=A0 Into her mind the sweetcomforting spirit enveloped her more soundly, but with an urgency she hadnever before known.
=A0
Brian went on to tell her that the 'birdies' had told him that he had tocome back and tell everyone about the "birdies". He said theybrought him back to the house and that a big fire truck, and an ambulancewere there. A man was bringing the baby out on a white bed and he triedto tell the man the baby would be okay, but the man couldn't hear him.=A0He said, "birdies told him he had to go with the ambulance, but theywould be near him. He said, they were so pretty and so peaceful, and hedidn't want to come back.
=A0
And then the bright light came.=A0 He said that the light was so bright andso warm, and he loved the bright light so much.=A0 Someone was in thebright light and put their arms around him, and told him, "I loveyou but you have to go back.=A0 You have to play baseball, and telleveryone about the birdies."=A0 Then the person in the bright lightkissed him and waved bye-bye.=A0 Then whoosh, the big sound came and they
went into the clouds."
=A0
The story went on for an hour.=A0 He taught us that "birdies"were always with us, but we don't see them because we look with our eyesand we don't hear them because we listen with our ears.=A0 But they arealways there, you can only see them in here (he put his hand over hisheart).=A0 They whisper the things to help us to do what is right becausethey love us so much.=A0=A0 Brian continued, stating, "I have a plan,Mommy. You have a plan.=A0 Daddy has a plan.=A0 Everyone has a plan.=A0 We m=ustall live our plan and keep our promises.
=A0
The "birdies help us to do that cause they love us so much."=A0In the weeks that followed, he often came to us and told all, or part ofit again and again.=A0 Always the story remained the same.=A0 The detailswere
neverchanged or out of order.=A0 A few times he added further bits ofinformation and clarified the
message he had already delivered.=A0 It never ceased to amaze us how hecould tell such detail and
speak beyond his ability when he spoke of his "birdies."
=A0
Everywhere he went, he told strangers about the "birdies".=A0Surprisingly, no one ever looked at him strangely when he did this.=A0Rather, they always get a softened look on their face and smiled.
=A0

Needless to say, we have not been the same ever since that day, and Ipray we never will be.
