into a bunch of internet based voice telecommunications packages.
There were quite a number of them floating around. I evaluated according
to criteria such as; ease of use, economics, functionality and reliability.

While VDO is likey one of the better packages around for Windows based systems,
at least as of a year ago...they also were more expensive then. I was able to
get Freetel, free and use only my existing system. Since my communications were
primarily between Win'95 type systems it fit the bill. Also I tested it under
different circumstances and found it to be fairly reliable once configured properly.
It performed well even during heavy or peak load times over central areas of net hub
traffic congestion.

I simply made the assumption that most of the systems logging onto Keely were Windows
based PC's. Perhaps I was wrong? If the majority of users are into other systems
or OS's then certainly your suggestion makes sense, especially if you have had good
experience with this application you mention called FreePhone. Can you share your thoughts
and experience with this package further? Have you found it to be reliable, full featured
and easy to use?
