I got to thinking about the 'stasis' field that some of the Star Trek
shows talk about...ya know, it seems like that could be possible. There
are also correlations to what would appear to be an anti-time field if
it was simply a matter of reversing motion, but just spinning backwards
won't reverse time, despite what Superman does in the movies..<g>..
It is a matter of phase conjugation which allows you to speed up, slow
down or stop motion using frequency.
The trick would be a multi-spectral 180 degree phase conjuated mirror,
just like the current audio units that pick up low frequencies up to
about 200hz and send out a mirror image that is 180 degrees out of phase
to cancel.
Such a device would of course freeze the matter since heat is a
production of vibration. But it could stop all motion or at least slow
it down or speed it up by varying degrees. Could be useful for a lot of
purposes....
