Re: Lost Ancient Technology

Hi All,

A lot more examples of ancient technology could be given, which is the
understatement of the year.

Something like this is hard to tell... I usually get the impression
that the ancients frequently used magnetic feild cores whose feilds
had two or three of the circuit functions, "sense, act and decide" all
together in the way the feild was set up, as opposed to a lot of
solid-state components or whatever.

Just like these would usually be passed off as "ritual objects", the
ways they are set up, which often sounds like they are using
associative memory, as in phase conjugate crystals, which would
probably appear to be "ritual" as anthropologists might classify things.

This makes the possibilities greatly diverse, IMHO; such fetishes
could be anything from toys or meditation aids that produced recorded
sounds of the animals depicted under certain conditions to holographic
projectors, to things that captured encephalographic or molecular
patterns or other complex data, if I were perhaps to again wax more
into the fashion of modern shamanism, or Star Trek, respectively. Were
they to have mastered the art of materialization as legend repeatedly
implies, it may indeed be superior to catching an animal to scan to
have a pre scanned holographic pattern stored as magnetic data.

Something I also note is that ancients were probably aware of
techniques for magnetizing non-ferro magnetics, and may have done so
using a method referred to as "directional casting" or a number of
related methods. I'm wondering if certain techniques couldn't leave
submicron bores or other fine permeation that could act as
magnetizable resonant cavities. Tesla coils, ie high frequency, are
said to be able to make submicron perforations.

Perhaps also contructing certain things in the presence of magnetic
flux would leave accomodations for feilds if this isn't synonymous
with directional casting, it has been a number of years since I've
read the article carefully that appeared in Fate magazine and was
authored by Stanton Freidman, something about the "Electromagnetic
Dragon" where he identified the alchemic Ouroboros as an
electro-magnetic value, much as one of Von Danniken's books identified
its value to the Gnostics as something that sounds perhaps like a
superconductive loop... a circulating energy of great speed and so
forth...

So granted an ancient device, if it retained any of these properties
could appear to us to be a mere rock or stick... but I take it they
usually employed a form of labelling, symbols, pictograms,
ideograms... perhaps partly as a communal courtesy, an partly as a way
of general instruction, something that appears to be a perrouguetive
of artists and storytellers, if such a scientific vocabulary indeed
exists in the literary remains that we know of.

Also, it may not be necessary for an apparent anode and cathode both
to be present; I in fact started to take Tesla seriously when a friend
and I built one of Craig Anderton's "Electronic Projects For
Musicians", and were rather astonished to find it working perfectly
well with only one of the battery terminals attatched to the battery...

Additionally, I am reminded of the presence of Aluminum in the first
reported Memory Glass; this is a physical property which I imagine can
be projected or conducted onto other matter, as perhaps can Heat Shape
Memory as well.

I've seen implications that the ancients may have used alloys, ie
thermocouples, for water purification (ie, "electrum") perhaps by
making a similar displacement of phase-transition potentials.

As to the wave diagrams, what of this nature that has most recently
concerned me is the content of Aleister Crowley's "Thoth" Tarot. I
have a webpage devoted to this also, the "Moon" card somehow strikes
me as a comment on the quantum mechanics of life and death, replete
with the funerary Anubis. I've been left to wonder just how much
Einstien's "gespenster" or "ghost particle" might actually pertain to
what ghosts are, in addition to wondering if some value of what we
call life has a wave function that can be collapsed by perhaps the
means suggested by Nick Herbert in "Quantum Reality".

I am of course on the one hand speculating, and on the other leaving
out many citations which may be supportive here...

Best Regards,
