Actually I do know something of electric cars. $500 will get you the
adapter plate and plans. Bit of a rip off. It will cost several
thousand dollars to buy the motor, deep cycle batteries, and motor
controler. You then have to rip out the back seat and use up the trunk
area as well to store the batteries.
There is a plan for a Ford Ranger conversion that makes more sense. It
uses one of those tool bins that fit in the box to store the batterys.
Also, you won't exceed the axel weight.
