Human beings as OU devices?

Ok,

I remember reading (a few years back) that there are some peoples
(tribes in Africa, amongst others) that engage in certain activities
(like carrying water or other stuff, balanced on the head) that seem to
be operating at greater than %100 efficiency.

I was wondering if anybody knows of any research that has been done on
this subject?

Also, I can't help but wonder if some of the more amazing results of
Aikido, Tai Chi, Chi Kung, etc, would test out as OU. I have been
interested in esoteric martial arts for some time, and much of what is
written about Ki, Chi, Prana, etc. sounds a lot like the elusive "ether"
or what have you. A practitioner can allow this energy to flow through
them, and accomplish extraordinary feats.

In biology, (if I remember correctly) I learned that traditional science
reckons that human beings operate at somwhere between %60 and %65
efficiency. If, under some circumstances, people can operate at greater
than %100 efficiency, then that would prove that output can exceed
input.

Also, I can't help but think that OU would be an evolutionary boon, and
thus, if it is possible, I think that it likely exists in *some*
lifeform somewhere.

Anyway, I would be especially interested in any actual tests of the
energy efficiency of people doing physical labor using techniques honed
over millenia.
