With regard to the web and pc accelerator programs, I had it installed
on 3 machines since last Friday.
It seemed to work ok and was in fact faster than before, in one case,
blindingly faster.
My friend sent me an email asking me to come over and 'get that thing
off my computer'...his computer seemed to be working ok, but he says
he didn't like logging on to their webage everytime as it took so long
to load. He had things to do and considered this a nuisance...so I
explained how to use add/remove to uninstall....he's back to being
slower but happier.
Now, my experience with the two computers has been identical, both
negative.
As of last night, I removed both programs from both computers.
The reason? When on the web, my mouse pointer will just freeze for no
apparent reason. Ctrl/alt/del and no keys respond, even after a 3
minute wait.
I uninstalled it on one computer and reinstalled thinking I had a
corrupted file or two. It ran ok for a day or so, then bam, back
again with the lockups.
No time or patience with Microsoft clone software with mystery
undocumented failures, so I removed both from the computers and
informed the others here to watch out for similar problems.
I also wrote the webmaster about this problem with their 'free'
software and to date haven't received a response.
So, if it starts locking up on anyone, you might try the reinstall but
I just cleaned it out...not worth the hassle.
Interesting how it worked fine for about 5 days before the problems,
at least in my case.
Thanks for bringing it up as I was intending on sending my experience
to the list in case anyone else had specific problems with the programs.
The subliminal program has been working without any weirdness so I'm
still happy with it, though haven't bought the copy yet as I don't see
any perceptible effects.....been about 6 days so far...possibly I've
got too many 'improvements' running that are confusing my
subconscious..<g>...one step at a time..
