A friend called the manufacturer of the motor to speak with the R&D director
about Newman's claims. He had to ponder for a minute before recalling
Neman's name, but when he did he said that they had looked at his motor
several years ago but didn't find anything significant. He emphasized their
motor design was quite different from what Newman developed. He was quite
clear that there was absolutely no lawsuit or other legal action from
Newman, which is contrary to what the Newman camp states. This
manufacturer's own tests show a motor with an efficiency in the eight %
range (if I remember correctly), but definitely not O-U. Newman demo'd this
motor at the ANE conference last year, and from his math it wasn't O-U
either. He might have something, but independently O-U test results are
lacking, nor is it being sold at Walmart.
