Thanks for asking!Sorry I neglected to indicate that the caps in the Hodowanec
circuits are electrolytic, so they are more subject to swings in temperature
than humidity.

Regarding static buildup, remember that these caps are wired such that current
intentionally flows through them. A current is immediately applied when the
circuit is turned on. It is not the voltage but rather the changes in this
CURRENT which are being detected by the circuit. The output generates noise - a
tremendous amount of it. Yet in this noise are audible signatures of the
motions of nearby masses. You can swing a heavy pendulum toward such a circuit
and hear an additional periodic "hiss" in your speaker as the mass moves back &
forth in perfect synchronization with the sound. (There is even more to this.)

The Hodowanec effects are detectable by components other than capacitors. For
example, one gentleman is using crystal transducers from old depth sounders to
detect the same effects, but with greater independence of temperature. These
are transducers employing barium zirconate or barium titanate crystals, and to
my knowledge, these are not subject to the same self-charging effects associated
with capacitors. Yet they exhibit the same "gravitational" sensitivity.

I am not able to "see" a mechanism by which the bouceback effect mentioned in an
earlier post would cause any of this behavior in a crystal.

On the contrary, that some piezo crystals might be electrically responsive to
compression of space would seem intuitively very appealing. These same
apparently "gravitational" phenomena are detected with either an electrolytic
capacitor or a crystal transducer.

(Barium Titanate has interesting properites. The crystal is also used in laser
applications as a phase-conjugate mirror. It automatically phase conjugates
incident light waves.)
