I had reservations about posting this to the list because of its size
and some inflammatory content, however, having met Joseph Newman, I know
he is very sincere in his belief that he has developed numerous new
technologies which are slowly being siphoned away from him with no
credit or financial compensation being given. I'm not endorsing the
content of what is said, but he provides some of his thoughts on the
matter and where you can buy a copy of his most interesting book.
He showed me a photo of his electromagnetic propelled balloon at the
last INE conference and I had taken several shots of it and the
newspaper article describing it on my digital camera that was
subsequently stolen from our luggage at the New York airport.
The photo Joe showed was a balloon wrapped with wire, Joe said the thing
could be driven by altering the magnetic field in the coil so that it
repelled against earth magnetism...the larger the diameter or horizontal
circumference of the device, the greater the amount of thrust, and that
applies to lift also...anyway, I was kind of taken aback by what I
thought might be a tongue in cheek approach because it was a BALLOON,
but when he explained it as being lift and thrust against the earths
field, he had my attention.
I don't know that what he is claiming here is fact, since these notices
come out periodically when something new is proposed, but it's Joe's
belief that he is being ripped off. Anyway, read the following and if
you want, get a copy of the book, I've seen it and it will really make
you reevaluate your way of thinking.

The "Call for Papers" issued 1 May 1998 by Mr. Alan Holt, Chair, NASA
Johnson Space Center, Code OZ4, NASA Road, Houston, Texas 77058-3696 ---
concerning Electromagnetic Space Travel "without the use of rockets or
beamed power."
STATEMENT:
I, Joseph Newman, recognize the above "Call for Papers" as an attempt to
solicit further theft of my Life's Work which has included the
innovation of efficient space travel by electromagnetic means.
I refer specifically to my U.S. Patent Application Serial No. 896663
received by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on "14" August 1986 ---
entitled:
"ELECTROMAGNETIC LEVITATING DEVICE FOR MOVING AND/OR LIFTING ABOVE THE
EARTH'S SURFACE AND EFFICIENT SPACE TRAVEL."
BACKGROUND:
Dr. Roger Hastings, a Senior Physicist with Sperry Univac (now Unisys)
had informed my attorney, John Flannery of the Washington D.C. area,
about three weeks before I achieved such an electromagnetic life that
very year (1986):
"I don't think Joe will ever be able to do so at the Earth's surface,
but that he probably could out in space."
Three weeks later, Dr. Hastings attended a demonstration of my
"ELECTROMAGNETIC MINI-SPACESHIP" innovation at the Admiral Semmes Hotel
in Mobile, Alabama.
After weighing the Spaceship Prototype and measuring its size, Dr.
Hastings stated:
"A VEHICLE WHICH IS 1,000 FEET IN DIAMETER AND 500 FEET HIGH CAN CARRY A
PAYLOAD OF 4,400 TONS."
This statement and the details of my demonstration were featured on the
front page of the MOBILE PRESS REGISTER with the title:
"NEWMAN UNVEILS NEW INVENTION."
Shortly thereafter, Dr. Roger Hastings told my attorney, John Flannery:
"I will never say Joe can't do something again."
In addition, former U.S. astronaut who had orbited the Moon, Capt. Ron
Evans strongly recommended my Life's Work to NASA during the 1970s.
Also, Dr. Robert Smith, former Head of Space Environment Branch of NASA
at Huntsville, Alabama in the late 1970s strongly recommended and
endorsed my Life's Work to the world. His testament on behalf of my
work is featured on pages 112-115 of my book, THE ENERGY MACHINE OF
JOSEPH NEWMAN. Page 368 of this book features a photograph of my SPACE
INVENTION as published on the front page of the Mobile Press Register in
1986 as well as verifying in the accompanying story the above facts.
On page 118 of my book, the following is proven:
"THE EARTH ITSELF IS AN ELECTROMAGNETIC SPACE VEHICLE THAT MOVES IN ITS
ORBIT AND ITS TILT IN SPACE TO ITS ORBIT OF 23 DEGREES AND 27 DEGREES IS
CONTROLLED BY THE SUN'S ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD."
In the 1970s, Dr. Robert Smith, Chief of Space Environment Branch of
NASA had his statisticians verify the Mathematical Proof I presented on
page 118 of my book and they concluded:
"THE CHANCES OF JOSEPH NEWMAN BEING WRONG WAS ALMOST TOTALLY
IMPOSSIBLE!"
The mathematical odds against what I demonstrated being "purely
accidental" was and is 29,180,000 to 1 against accidental occurrence.
Therefore, easily as I have already demonstrated and explained:
A SPACESHIP CAN BE BUILT IN OUTER SPACE --- WITH A 100 MILE DIAMETER
ENCLOSING MINIATURE WORLD WITH TREES, PLANTS, ANIMALS, AND HUMANS AS
WELL AS WATER-CAUSING CONTROLLED RAIN WITHOUT STORMS, EARTHQUAKES, OR
VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS --- CAN BE CONSTRUCTED.
IN SHORT, A CONTROLLED, MINIATURE WORLD FOR ALL LIFE --- PLANT AND
ANIMAL --- CAN BE CREATED.
THIS WORLD WILL ELECTROMAGNETICALLY TRAVEL IN SPACE WITH ITS DIRECTION
AND SPEED EASILY CONTROLLED, ELECTROMAGNETICALLY.
SPEEDS CAN BE EASILY BE ATTAINED WHICH GREATLY EXCEED ANYTHING
OBTAINABLE BY PRIMITIVE ROCKETRY.
Pages 112 through 153 combined with page 368 of my book, so prove the
above statements.
The 8th Edition of my book will be released by June 1st, 1998 and this
work proves the Truth of my Life's Work for Humanity and the Conspiracy
of the U.S. Government and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office against
Joseph Newman and the People of the United States and World --- People
who have been denied the opportunity to receive the benefits of this
technology. To this day, I "FIGHT LIKE A TIGER" for the achievement of
such benefits for all Humanity.
Remember, the Special Master (a former U.S. Commissioner of the U.S.
Patent and Trademark Office with "superb credentials" in electrical
engineering according to the PTO and Federal Judge) was appointed by the
Federal District Court to evaluate my work and explicitly stated:
"EVIDENCE BEFORE THE PATENT AND TRADEMARK OFFICE AND THIS COURT IS
OVERWHELMING THAT NEWMAN HAS BUILT AND TESTED A PROTOTYPE OF HIS
INVENTION IN WHICH THE OUTPUT ENERGY EXCEEDS THE EXTERNAL INPUT ENERGY:
THERE IS NO CONTRADICTORY FACTUAL EVIDENCE."
Wherein the Republican Study Committee of Congress concluded in their
Report of May 9, 1986:
"CONCLUSION:
"Joseph Newman has received arbitrary and unfair treatment at the hands
of the PTO and Judge Jackson. Congress should act because the Executive
and Judicial branches have failed this American citizen. In light of
Congress' oversight responsibilities and the fact that it is empowered
by the Constitution to issue patents, the fact that the preponderance of
evidence is in Newman's favor, and the fact that this invention is
potentially beneficial to hundreds of millions of people, it is totally
in order for Congress to grant Newman a patent and to allow the American
marketplace to decide the value of this invention."
For you, Mr. Holt, and NASA to pretend that you do not know of my Life's
Work and the practicality of my Patent Application for my SPACE
