A fellow at work tells me he had seen a site on the InterNet which sells an
off the shelf electric conversion for Volkswagon Bugs that cost less than
$500....you simply remove the engine, install this electric motor and hook
up some batteries, and voila, an electric about town tooling car.....he
could not find the URL but said he would continue to look....
Damn, if that is so, its worth buying an old bug and doing a conversion for
local trips...I don't recall the range but surely it is at least 100
miles....
Does anyone know about this or where you can buy it??
