Jerry, Interesting note About the Floating Egg I think the Aerodynes may
be possible based on the Bernoulli's Principal: When energy is neither
added or taken from a fluid in motion, the potential energy,or pressure
will decrease when the kinetic energy,or velocity, is increaced.(the
basis for the aerodynamic wing)basically airflow over a wing shape
causes a differential in pressure generating lift however in the case of
the fat end up egg the forces generated would be laterally not
vertically also this process causes drag on the object requiring
constant power input. The aerodyne would work if the airflow over the
top of the aerodyne was faster than the airflow over the bottom.
As an aircraft mechanic of many years I would bet new mechanics that I
could make a screwdriver hover in mid air .The trick is to have a
screwdriver with a round topped handle shoot comperssed air across the
domed top and generating sufficent lift to hold the screwdriver in mid
air. was always worth a Laugh and $10 bucks. BTW fish are not static
while in a fast current they just have a very hydrodynamically efficent
shape requiring MINIMAL effort to stay in the same location.
