Billy it occurs to me that the light may be "shuttered" into your ideal
mirror sphere by the use of a laser splitter an optical device that is
mirrored in such a way as to permit light entry only at a specific angle
all other angles are mirrored back.you would have to design your sphere
so that all reflected angles after entry do not align with the permitted
entry angle.very difficult but may be possible? also as someone brought
up earlier mirrors are not 100% efficent ,for example 99%efficency
mirrors would cause a 50% light energy reduction after only 8
reflections so the likelehood of energy storage with this technology is
low.
