Peer pressure, Conformity, Groupthink
[Wikipedia] Peer pressure Conformity groupthink Peer pressure requires members to conform to the overall value of the group. Conformity is the degree to which members of a group will change their behavior, views and attitudes to fit the views of the group. The group can influence members via unconscious processes or via overt peer pressures on individuals. Groupthink is a mode of thought whereby individuals intentionally conform to what they percieve to be the consensus of the group. Groupthink may cause the group (typically a committee or large organization) to make bad or irrational decisions which each member might individually consider to be unwise.
