Suspect in anthrax-letter deaths kills himself

WASHINGTON - Anthrax-laced letters that killed five people and severely
rattled the post-9/11 nation may have been part of an Army scientist's
warped plan to test his cure for the deadly toxin, officials said Friday.
The brilliant but troubled scientist committed suicide this week, knowing
prosecutors were closing in.

In April 2000, I got an email from a Navy officer at Fort Detrick, MD asking
who I was and what was my interest in a MMR class action lawsuit. I never
found out why he contacted me and what was the military's interest in me.
Fort Detrick is involved in vaccines and bioterrorism.

I will send the name (Lt Sergio Ficchi, USNR) to crime tip contact section
of the http://www.fbi.gov/ mentioning the email I received in April 2000 as
a candidate to check into. At the time, I made the error of not bringing
this email to the attention of law enforcement agencies.

"By the early months of 2002, investigators were zeroing in on 20 to 30
scientists they said had both the knowledge and opportunity to send the
anthrax letters. "

If the FBI looks at Fort Detrick and considers what happened to me with that
email from Lt. Ficchi they may find that it was more than one person
involved in this terrible incident back in 2001. Since April 2000, I had
always suspected people involved with Fort Detrick were involved with these
anthrax letters and there is too much that smells that indicates I'm right.

Hopefully with my tip they will look closer at this Lt. Ficchi and Fort
Detrick in particular.
