It all has to do with particle size in a C-Silver suspended solution.
If the C-Silver particles are below a certain micron size there is no
problem with argyria.
I'm fairly sure that the lady inquestion was not taking C-Silver, but rather
Silver Nitrate, and in large quantities, prescribed by an unwitting MD.
Back in the 30s they didn't even have the eletectrolysis method of making
C-Silver. So large particle solutions were par for the day.
 
To my knowledge, there has not been a case of argyria ever, even when
consuming mega quantities of C-Silver, when using modern electrical, ionic
production methods.
Thus this story is ancient history, and has always been used by the
advisories of C-Silver therapies.

Years ago, I had bought CS and a book came with it.  In the book (Micro
Silver Bullet), it did warn about skin discoloration.  It stated that the
discoloration (gray skin) is permanent and advised using it only when
necessary and in small amounts.
