Subject: Benveniste News.... From: James Randi --- Wizard To: broadcast-JREFInfo@ssr.com Nature Magazine reports that a French court has thrown out a lawsuit brought by Jacques Benveniste (of homeopathic fame) against two French Nobel Prize winners who implied that his work might have been fraudulent. And he can't refile charges, either. even though it was a technicality that got the case dismissed. If they did indeed think that he was a fraud, I disagree. I think he's simply self-deluded and driven by a huge ego that doesn't allow him to be wring. In my opinion, he actually believes all that nonsense. Almost impossible to understand why, but I've seen sillier beliefs expressed by sillier scientists. Just look at those (admittedly few) scientists who really believed that Uri Geller had psychic powers! **************************************** SUBSCRIBING/UNSUBSCRIBING: **************************************** Send an emtpy mail message to JREFInfo-help@ssr.com for details.
