HENRY MORAY - DID HE DISCOVER FREE ENERGY

I have known of many different stories of “this guy had the secret of free energy – but the secret was lost with him” – I know of many people who have dedicated their lives to failed attempts to resurrect such devices.  Moray is only one of many people who have made such claims. The following is a letter I got from an older person who has been investigating claims of free energy for many years. It is found at www.phact.org/e/z/moray.htm

Hi, Eric,

In 1958-9, I was a graduate student in physics at the University of Utah.  I didn't meet Moray at that time.  A technician at the solid state physics lab, an older man, had apparently invested money with Henry Moray.  He had a little book by Moray, which I read clear through.  Most of the book was devoted to defenses of his secret technology, which wasn't explained at all.  There were stories about having demonstrated the device on remote mountain tops, and in front of prominent men, such as the leadership of the LDS Church.  He also devoted much of the pages to crying about being victimized by government agencies.

In 1963 or 1964 (maybe 1962), I was working in the aerospace industry in Southern California (Marquardt in Van Nuys).  I happened to hear that Henry Moray was scheduled to speak one evening at San Fernando Valley State College, hosted by the Physics Department.  I went to the "lecture."  There was a good-sized audience I thought, with about 25 people present, mostly professors at the college and some students.  I found Moray to be a somewhat charismatic, older gentleman.  The talk consisted of generalities and describing what his machine could do.  There was no description of its construction or explanation of how it worked.  To my dismay, after the lecture ended, he was congratulated by the head of the physics department.  I didn't stay to hear any further discussion.  I decided I had learned something new about human nature.

In a similar vein, about ten years ago I was asked by a Salt Lake patent attorney to listen to Paul Pantone and advise him if Pantone was legitimate and should be accepted as a client.  I met with Pantone at my house, and he described his invention to me.

Pantone was strikingly similar to Moray.  I advised the attorney that Pantone was a scam.  In the years that followed, I was shocked by the amount of people and their money that were enlisted in the promotion of Pantone's inventions.  (They formed an organization called GEET)  A little later, a BYU professor and a long-time friend told me that he had served as a consultant to Pantone's organization regarding a "wonderful carburetor." I guess Pantone is still in business (no longer attached to GEET), but there have been some rough spots along the way for him.

These and other experiences over the years have reinforced my impression that people will accept almost anything that they want to be true.  Thus scam artists seem easily able to con our learned men at times, or even get them elected as president of the United States.
