AUTHORS' ABSTRACT

Construction, performance, cost and environmental aspects of nickel-metal hydride batteries are briefly reviewed. Comparisons with other chargeable battery systems lead to the conclusion that nickel-metal hydride batteries will dominate the market for small, portable rechargeable battteries in the near future.
