A law of atomic bombs

An atomic nucleus in the center of atom constructing a matter radiate strong energy. This reaction is called nuclear fission.

When one number of neutron collide with an atomic nucleus of uranium 235 or plutonium 239, nuclear fission is caused and strong energy is radiated at the same time a little number of neutron is radiated. This neutron collide with another atomic nucleus, and then nuclear fission is caused again.

Atomic bombs are weapons which have huge destructive power because a chain reaction of nuclear fission is caused in a moment like this.

Atomic bomb used at Hiroshima named "Little Boy"

The atomic bomb dropped at Hiroshima at Aug. 8, 1945, this is named "Little Boy", is an atomic bomb structured with uranium 235.

Two mass of uranium 235 which mass are within the critical mass are set up in this atomic bomb like the right figure. When the ignition is fired, the powder is exploded, and then the shell of uranium 235 collide with the ring of uranium 235. The shock of this colliding move the initiater, then a chain reaction of uranium 235 is caused. The tragedy at Hiroshima was brought like this.

At that day, in a microsecond about 700 grams of uranium 235 made a nuclear fission, then the energy equal to the energy of 15 thousands tons of TNT dynamite was radiated.
 

Atomic bomb used at Nagasaki named "Fat Man"

The atomic bomb dropped at Nagasaki at Aug. 9, 1945, this is named "Fat Man", is an atomic bomb structured with plutonium 239.

There is the initiater the center of the sphere of the bomb. When the initiater is compressed by the explosion of the powder, the initiater is moved, and then a chain reaction of plutonium 239 is caused.

At that day, in a microsecond about 1 kilograms of plutonium 239 made a nuclear fission, then the energy equal to energy of 21 thousands tons of TNT dynamite was radiated. And the tragedy at Nagasaki was brought.

Atomic bombs have several special features about quality and volume compared with TNT dynamite.

Atomic bombs radiate energy of over 10 million times as same as TNT dynamite.

The destructive effect of TNT dynamite is perfectly a bomb blast. The other side atomic bombs caused various effect for example a bomb blast, heat radiations, radioactivities and so on. The distribution of these energy is like the below figure.
