Monterrey PPM toy??

Hi Folks!

Got a call last night from a fellow in South
Texas....we talked about a lot of things as he was
asking about the CLEM engine. Now that was all well
and good, he's been around and thought it sounded
worth looking into but he mentioned a visit he and his
wife made to some caves near Monterrey where he saw an
interesting toy being sold.

He says Monterrey, Mexico is known for these caves and
that at the foot of the caves is a small roadside
store where they sell a toy that appears to self run
and is advertised as 'perpetual motion'.

His description was of a barbell that was magnetic and
moves back and forth, continually and he says without
any outside power or battery type source that he could
detect, even when stopping it, he put it back on and
it started running again.

I described to him a toy (kinetic sculpture) I
received as a birthday gift that has a small thin
plastic disc with a 9 volt battery in it that keeps
the magnetic arms spinning. The arms are chrome
plated barbells and magnetic but the battery provides
a pulse that drives it to swang like a pendulum.

What I'd like to see is if anyone on this list lives
or is planning to visit Monterrey in the near future
and could buy one of these for me (I will pay you for
it..<g>.)....

The fellow that called said he couldn't figure out how
it worked but knew it was magnetic and he sounded like
he had a good handle on mechanical devices.

So, if you are going to Monterrey, maybe someone did
discover a neat basic effect that they are selling as
a toy. What if it does self run and could be scaled
up?

No sense speculating without seeing one in operation
to determine its motive source and whether or not it
does self run.

Thanks for any input you could provide...>>> Jerry
