Over unity and dean drive

hey keelynetters
i have been wondering what was the dean drive about. was it designed to generate just thust in one direction and could it generate lift? could anybody give me a rough idea of what it was like and maybe any others like it?
also i would like to get the right defination of under unity, unity and over unity please...............
