NASA of course has done studies, one I remember with
eggs. A dozen on earth and a dozen into space on a
shuttle. Then ones on earth hatched and the ones
in the shuttle did not. After shuttle came back.. the
eggs, however, did hatch. Also NASA has done studies
of effects in space and has found that gravity plays
a part of cell development. Bone attrophy occurs as
does muscle also. I'm sure there is more that occurs
but has not been studies or we don't know about it yet.
Now, one thing about this study, not only is gravity
missing but also the magnetic field of the earth is
much much less. Therefore it could be that the magnetic
field plays an very important role in health. I'm sure
there is something to magnetic field healing devices.

Thinking more about this, no so impressive. It is a
DC magnetic field (.5T is what they refer to) that is
being canceled which is much much easier to achieve.
Once just places a coil on either side of the MRI
coil, and match the reverse magnitude of the external
field close to the primary coil. Of course sensors
can then be used to feedback signals to the secondary coil
to cancel out the field to zero. Not so impresive now.
