Hi Jerry et al:
Hopefully now that we have got past the differences between "compressed
air is cold" to "the heat generated from the compression process". I
have twigged onto something here. If we put the system into a closed
loop vacum we should be able to capitalize on the differences of
protentcial re high pressure/low pressure, hot/cold. Two things that are
relitive in a closed system is if one heats compressed air/gas one
creates pressure, and if you chill air/gas you end up with a vaccum .
Air is probably the worst medium for heat/pressure exchange but if you
use another gas that readily absorbs and releases heat/cold and also
compresses well(liquifies) we may end up with something of use. Air
conditioning gas probably would be of consideration. (non explosive). We
need a gas that will gasify at pretty much room temp and liquifiy at a
realitive ambiant temp, and ofcoarse will not freeze.
Now consider running the system via a heat exchanger. Cold liquified
gas enters a heat exchanger hydraulic cylinder, add heat, expansion, warm
gas. Now run the same warmed gas through the same exchanger except that
the same warmed gas is suppling the heat for the cold liquified gas. The
same gas has lost its heat value and is now cold and creates a vaccum.
Ineffect we are running a heat exchanger inside a heat exchanger.
By itself the system would not be self-sustaining but would find its
own equallibreum but if you add a small pump to maintain the difference
we should have a engine that runs entirly on only gas pressure with only
a small assist. The idea is not unlike adding a weight on the other side
of a lever to creat equallibrium, it would only take a small assist to
lift a larger weight,or the principal of a heat pump.

Larry

Hi Folks!

Here is some of the buzz about the French aircar by
Guy Negre;

http://www.necnp.org/aircar.htm

May issue of Wired, p. 76, has a piece by Heather
McCabe on the car that says;

40,000 taxis will be bought by the Mexican govt to use
as taxis.

3 prototypes -- are taxis, vans, and pickups.

Expected to be released in 2000 at an average cost of
$13,000. The photo used appears to be the same car as
the photo you posted.

Less technical data: 2 cylinder engine, uses heated
outside air & supercompressed air from tanks under the
car.

Can fill up in less than 3 minutes at a gas station
air pump, a tankful lasts 120 miles.
