Jerry, I checked the Canadian patent repository nothing showed up. See
my correspondence with them below.

The Canadian Patent Database is at (very similar to the IBM one in the
US):

Hi Chris!

You wrote;

1956 did not reveal any patents in the name of John Huston.

Please note from the 1956 date was the date of publication for the
FATE letter to the editor. The actual invention would be in the range
of 1915 to 1925 or so as specified in the following information from
the file;

http://www.keelynet.com/energy/huston.htm

"Huston evidently got nowhere with his device and I do not know what
became of it. He died a young man of 22 in 1920 or 1921."
========================
This would mean the device patent would have to be in the same range
of 1912 to say 1925. These would be the years to search and would
probably involve a hands on visit to a Canadian or British patent
repository, as should be available in local libraries.

Thanks for checking into it, just need to get the proper time period,
if there really is a patent at that time.

The other glitch would be that it wasn't patented in Huston's name but
in a company name or investment group.

I would think a kid of 20 or so would insist that his name be put on a
patent of such enormous potential, just for 'braggin rights'.
