RE: Electronics Query

An easy way would be to get your +15V and -15V supply from two sets of a 9V
battery connected in series with 2 1.5V batteries. Thus 9+6 equals 15. So,
for your OPAmp circuit, you need three terminals (wires). A +15V, a -15V and
a circuit ground (or reference). To achieve that you must connect the two
15V supplies as follows:
1. First connect the + of 9V battery to - of 1.5V one. Then connect the
+ of that battery to the - of the second1.5V battery. From the + of the
second 1.5V battery you have +15V with respect to the - of the 9V battery.
In the end you should have two terminals (wires) from this (first) battery
supply to your circuit. One is from the - of the 9V battery to your circuit,
which will be called circuit ground, and the second is from the + of the
second 1.5V battery to your circuit, which would be called +15V.
2. Now, to put together the 2nd battery supply, you need to follow the
same exact sequence as in step 1, with a slight alteration. So, after you
connected the three batteries together, the terminal from the + of the
second 1.5V battery would be your circuit ground and should be connected to
your circuit in the same place as the circuit ground from the first battery
supply. The terminal from the - of the 9V battery would be called -15V.
3. So, in the end you should have one circuit ground, and two "hot"
terminals, +15V and -15V. Make sure you don't short any of the two "hot"
terminals directly to ground. If you do that, your battery supply might
explode...
That ought to be simple enough. However if you encounter difficulty, let me
know, maybe I can explain it better.

Subject: Electronics Query

I am going to be using an op-amp amplification circuit but
of course I need
either +5, -5 or +15, -15 to run the one I want. If you can
tell me how to
wire one up some batteries to give the above output values
then can you
e-mail me.

Thanks

Matthew.
