You take a hot shower, your pores in your skin open wide allowing more
absorption, steam is inhaled by your lungs carrying toxins, you feel
refreshed but in reality are poisoning yourself. Sounds plausible, what do
the rest of the list members think about this?

What many people do not realize is that while they may be trying to protect
their health from chlorine by using filtered or bottled water they are
absorbing large amounts amounts of chlorine by stepping into a shower. Tests
show that your body can absorb more chlorine by taking a ten minute shower
than by drinking 8 glasses of the same water. The absorption is increased to
a greater amount because the chlorine can be absorbed right through the
skin. Also in a shower the chlorine is released into the air in the form of
a gas and inhaled right into the lungs.
This exposure causes short and long term side effects. Because chlorine is a
poison that attacks hat attacks your hair, eyes, skin, mouth, nose, and
lungs, oxidizing the outer layers. Recent findings have linked long term
chlorine showers to increased atherosclerosis and resulting heart attacks
and strokes, cancers and birth defects.
