Last night my computer was hacked.. a complete file listing, screenshot
of my desktop (not sure why they did that..) and 2 megs of my files
were stolen before I stopped it.. they also played havoc with other
stuff, which wound up damaging an audio cd because of what they did
to my CD-ROM...
I'm going to be going offline for a few days to reformat my hard
drive and fix this stuff.. check out my website for details on
what happened if anyone's interested..
Can anyone recommend a good security program for something like this?
Not a virus scanner, but maybe something that monitors network
connections.. I'll talk to my ISP about this, and see what they
suggest..
ttyl...

p.s. if you hear about a patch for a security hole in Windows95
called "Back Orifice" (patch is BO_Patch.exe), do NOT run it.
(the security hole was discovered and named by a hacker group..)
I don't think the patch did anything to my system except call
attention to it.. my net traffic increased as soon as I ran this,
and then discovered 4 active connections I couldn't explain.
