First what exactly is a scar? Strange question?

Consider this: According to the standard medical
establishment our skin is made of seven layers the outer one
most of which is dead and continually falling off at a
microscopic level. The skin completely replaces it self
many times in a fairly short time frame.

So why do scars remain?

Damage to 'Aura', 'Subtle Body', or ?, that guides its
formation?
