Collin Wilson has written several excellent works. His fiction
represents allegorically the end use of mind control techniques
(electromagnetic and neurological) of which many of the technological
devices spoken of on this list are but fragments of what is possible.
His best work - one in which he anticipated what you seek - is, The Mind
