I don't mean to sound nasty, but I think that your "simple" solution is
not very simple at all. Especially if someone is stuck with a system at
work.
Email viruses (what few there are) have to be EXECUTED before they are a
threat to ANY system.
All one need to do to protect oneself, is to use an email client that is
set to not automatically run anything. Using, for instance, Netscape
3.x with all extensions (and Java) disabled will make you totally safe.
Just don't run any .exe's that mysteriously show up in your email!
Sheesh, this whole email virus thing is so out of control that I
sometimes wonder if the whole thing has taken on some sort of memetic
overunity.
