4th Dimension

I'm sorry to bother everyone, but while I fully understand what the first
three dimensions are, I'm having some trouble figuring out what some of you
mean when you speak of the 4th dimension. I had always thought that it was
time. It had always been my understanding that all the dimensions weren't
physical things, but were instead different ways of measuring. Can you
please help me with this? Also, I would be happy to hear your guys' ideas
about what the 5th or 6th dimensions might be.
