I encourage anyone thinking along these lines to check out Timothy Leary's
Eight-Circuit Model of consciousness. A web search should turn up
something, as will many of R. A. Wilson's non-fiction books (and some of his
fiction!) I may have submitted an article on it to KeelyNet long ago, too.
