With regard to capillary suction to re-supply a large reservoir, I just
rememberd an unusual pump that used a wave motion to pump water to ANY
HEIGHT.
Can't recall the filename at present, but it basically was a hollow
column that had a U (pointing downward) at the top...so that water would
overflow into the reservoir.
At the bottom is a chamber, that holds a given amount of water, like a
lab metering pump....a plunger forces water into it in bursts, which
causes a check valve to be defeated so that you literally STACK these
'chunks' of water one on top of another.
I'll have to dig up the file, but it was so simple in operation and was
basically a LINEAR pump that works in waves.....
