Well, it could be made a 'group effort'. Nobody said that it should be
heaped all upon your shoulders (at least, I think he didn't). :)
It'd definately help clear up any possible misconceptions that arise
from all the semantics-games people like to play with technical
terminology. It'll help the new guys, and act as a good reference for the
old. As I understand it, however, there's already a similar list out
there... I had it around here somewhere... DAMNIT. Hmm... there's a link
to it somewhere on Bill Beaty's wierd science page -- if someone can poke
around and see if they can find a URL to a science glossary page -- I know
it's on there SOMEWHERE, I just can't remember the name. Colloboration
with whoever wrote that glossary would be one step in the right direction
(or if he/she isn't maintaining that glossary, I'm sure the author
wouldn't mind someone continuing the work - as long as it's accurate and
proper credit is given).
One thing that itches at me (and this *IS* a dumb question, but I find
that high school science books do a poor job of explaining this):
what is the difference between longitudinal (compression/rarefaction)
waves and transverse waves?
Well - there's a start! :)
