Hi Ken et al!

Always hoping, I managed to locate this Aardvark post (your attachment
didn't come through on mine) which is;

perpetual motion?

Is this machine a perpetual motion machine?

http://www.overunity.de/finsrud.htm

check out the site and decide for yourself.
I have pictures and video of finsrud's machine from the website, as this
is not a binary newsgroup I won't post them here, (it has a tendancy to
upset the regulars) but I will be only too happy to e-mail them to
anyone who requests them.

later, Ardvark. : )
====================
It is of course Reidar Finsrud whose nephew Frode Olsen sent that in
about 4 years or so ago....last time I was in communication with Frode
he confirmed it is running by itself BUT because the rim that the ball
rides in is aluminum, it eventually put s film on the ball..kind of like
oxidation which has to be cleaned....so he does have to clean it every
so often, but for all intents and purposes it is supposed to be
continual.

Wouldn't it be neat to have a monopole sphere like Herb Wachspress'
design, made of rare earth magnets and in a shaped magnetic track...then
nothing would physically touch and it could move a lot faster...maybe an
optical circuit to switch on and off an electromagnet as this monopole
(Levitron type action) 'orbited' this track..<g>...put up some wire so
that the moving ball would produce a weak current as it swoops
past...naw, that wouldn't be right...has to be a mechanically moving
magnet...hmm...well, at least we know what the Aardvark was talking
about....
