entitled, "'Maglev' Dreams Floating on Air," mentions a new method of
manufacturing a permanent magnet so that "their combined magnetic field
would be concentrated in a single direction." The idea here is to use
permanent magnets to keep a levitating train up in the air, as opposed to
using boat-loads of power feeding electromagnets, or using lots of
expensive cyrogenic technology to make the electromagnets superconducting.
