uuuhhhhh, I missed the connection, what does commercialization of
plastic batteries have to do with the thread of a renewed interest in
solar energy? As in collection/reception of energy versus storage of
energy??

A helicopter got lost and flew over an unknown city. The radio was out
so the passengers made up a big sign saying 'where are we?'.
Hovering outside a high rise office building, office workers inside put
up another big sign saying, 'You're in a helicopter!'
So the helicopter passengers knew they were in Seattle.
