Oh, I get it now... the beeps would become farther apart *ONLY* if the
sattelite was ACCELERATING away from the earth (that's basic doppler
theory right there). You know how a car traveling towards you increases in
pitch and then decreases as it passes away from you? Same thing there.
However, if the sattelite is moving at a CONSTANT velocity, as you said,
then no - the frequency of the wave will remain constant.
