Hi Folks!

I don't KNOW for a fact that the claims of breatharianism and fasting are
identical. But I can see a possibility that a mix of gases could be used
to sustain the body. Interesting, but Keely said that too, that we
extracted energy from the gases we breathed....I'll have to dig up the
reference, I always considered it a very arcane statement in one of the
few papers that he actually wrote.....that survived..

I think this thread about fasting got considerably distorted when the
idea of breathing only air to sustain life was brought into the topic of
fasting.

The distinction must be made here between the two quite different topics.

Breatharians claim they need NO FOOD, that all their
energy comes from special breathing techniques that
allow them to absorb what they need from the ambient air.

Fasting is simply not eating for various periods,
depending on what the person is trying to achieve...but
always with the intent of RESUMING the eating of food.
