This reminds me of an experiment done by the guy who runs the place. It
was told to some of us by a Plano couple who've visited there and knew
this scientist.
The scientist (can't recall his name but I want to eventually get and
post the full details of his experiment) wants to use science to prove
that the Bible claims are correct.
He is of the opinion that the atmosphere long ago was at least 35%
oxygen. Today, depending on where you measure it, it runs from about 18%
up to about 25%.
The experiment used a batch of copperhead snakes. One group were placed
in a wire cage and allowed to live and grow breathing normal air. The
other group were placed in a hyperbaric chamber that contained an
enriched oxygen environment of 35% oxygen and regular air.
After 6 months, the open air snakes were still as mean as before. When
their venom was looked at under a microscope, the DNA was found to be
twisted, knotted and gnarled, it was also highly poisonous.
The snakes who lived and grew in the oxygen rich environment of the
hyperbaric chamber were docile and could be handled with no problems.
The DNA in their venom was completely without knots and could be laid out
straight without twisting up. It also had the toxicity of spit.
I always thought the story was fascinating...now that I think of
it...wonder if the number of base pairs per twist in the DNA was greater?
If so, then oxygen might be a key to longevity and I KNOW additional
oxygen aids healing, despite the claims of 'free radicals'....
